Measles

ALERT

According to the CDC, measles is a highly contagious virus that spreads through coughing and sneezing. Symptoms typically include high fever, cough, runny nose, and a rash that starts on the face and spreads. Measles can lead to serious complications, especially in young children and immunocompromised individuals. The best protection is the MMR vaccine, which is safe and highly effective in preventing measles. The CDC recommends children receive two doses, the first at 12-15 months and the second at 4-6 years old. Vaccination helps prevent outbreaks and protects communities.
